DFW Amex Centurion Lounge Giving Out Chocolates!

DFW Amex Centurion Lounge Giving Out Chocolates!

Greetings from the American Express Centurion Lounge at DFW airport! Today’s a pretty big day for American Express and the Platinum Card. Today American Express’ most dramatic chances go into effect for the Amex Platinum Card. Changes include an increased annual fee, $200/year in Uber credits, a Metal Card design, improved Priority Pass benefit, etc. Clearly American Express wants their changes known to all Platinum card-holders and today is giving out complimentary chocolates at the DFW Centurion lounge.

Currently Centurion Lounge greeter are handing out complimentary chocolates which Advertise the American Express Global Lounge Collection. When you open the package, instructions on the inside of the box invite members to visit the Membership section of the mobile app for lounge information. I did so and am very impressed by what I found.

American Express Global Lounge Collection

After eating the delicious Vosges Coconut Ash & Banana chocolate, I launched the Amex mobile app and visite the Membership tab. Within the tab there is now (or always has been?) a “Find A Lounge” option. When clicking into the find a lounge tab for the first time Amex makes it easy for card-holders to enroll in the improved Priority Pass program. After enrolling and allowing American Express to access your location, card-holders can see all nearby lounges. Even better, the app tell card-holders the requirements to gain entry to each lounge, the hours, and amenities offered.

Final Thoughts

I have to admit, free chocolates are always great, but when the chocolates serve as an advertisement to an amazing service they are even better. I love the way the Amex app presents the find a lounge feature. In the past I’d have to visit the priority pass website and click around to find an available lounge. Now, Amex shows card-holders all lounges which are accessed with the Platinum Card. This includes Delta Sky Clubs, Centurion lounges, and Priority Pass lounges. I’m really excited by this new features and equally excited to have received a free chocolate upon entry to the lounge today. I wonder if they’ll give me a second one on my way out?
