Don’t Forget 475 Starbucks Rewards Star Offer Ends Today

Well today is the final day of the 475 Starbucks Star bonus offer. Through 12/12/2018 Starbucks rewards members can earn up to 475 bonus stars by reloading their Starbucks card from Chase Pay. The official rules of the promotion state that the official cutoff time for the promotion is through 12/12/2018, but it is unclear if the cutoff is 12PM EST or 12PM CST. Either way, if you planned on taking advantage of this promotion you’d better act fast.

Earn Up To 475 Starbucks Rewards Bonus Stars

For those who may not remember, a little over a month ago Starbucks launched a lucrative promotion. The promotion allowed Starbucks Rewards members to earn up to 475 bonus Stars through card reloads from Chase Pay. The way the promotion worked was fairly simple.

After registering, Starbucks Rewards members would earn 125 Stars from a single $20+ Chase Pay reload. Rewards members would earn an additional 150 Stars from a second $20+ Chase Pay reload. Finally, after a third $20+ reload from Chase Pay Starbucks Rewards members would earn an additional 200 Stars. All in all, through a minimum of three $20 Chase Pay Reloads ($60) Starbucks Rewards members could earn a total of 475 Stars!

Keep in mind a redemption from Starbucks is worth 125 Stars. So, through this promotion Starbucks Rewards and Chase Pay customers would earn a total of about 3 free menu items from the promotion alone. The best part of this promotion is that it didn’t actually require you to make a qualifying purchase in store. This means you can reload your card to build up a balance which you can then use at your leisure. Overall, the promotion made it a lot easier than if you had to spend $60 in store. Although that wouldn’t be too difficult with Starbucks menu prices, am I right?

Finally, another awesome aspect of this promotion is that you could use your Chase Freedom card to make the purchases. Since Chase Pay is a Q4’18 5% bonus category you could also earn 5% cash back on your purchase. So, in reality that $60 Starbucks purchase only cost you $57.

Final Thoughts

One of the tricky things about trying to maximize promotions, discounts, or special offers is that you should only take advantage of them if you already planned on making that same purchase. So, if you have a $50 off a $300 purchase you should only take advantage of that offer if you already planned on spending the $300. Otherwise, you’re essentially spending $250 more dollars than you would have.

What I like about this particular offer is that it allows you to simply top up your Starbucks Rewards card. I drink Starbucks about once a week which means that it’ll take me some time to burn through the $60 spend required to earn the 475 bonus Stars, but it’s $60 that I would have spent eventually. If this offer was to spend $60 in a month I’m not so sure that I would have taken advantage of the offer.

Either way, this is a fantastic opportunity to earn at least three free Starbucks drinks and now is a great time to do it. Starbucks offers a ton of seasonal drinks, but they all have one thing in common; they are expensive. By taking advantage of this promotion you can earn a few extra Stars to give one of their seasonal drinks a try without breaking the bank.
